NATURE IN THE GLASS ‘Peaceful Nymphaea’

Naru UchidaNaru Uchida

Adding a colorful touch with 3 Nymphea species to a small aquarium that can be viewed from multiple angles.

A cube-shaped aquarium tank with the same width, depth and height can be viewed not only from the front but from the left and right sides. I created the composition and planted by taking advantage of the multifaceted view and space. For materials, I simply laid a flat Yamaya Stone on its side and placed the center of gravity near the center. I kept balance with growing aquatic plants and expressed calm aesthetic with Aqua Gravel in the front. I planted Eleocharis montevidensis that is unlikely to create shade when it’s fully grown in the back, so that there is enough light for Nymphaea planted in the middle. To soften the red contrast of Nymphaea lotus ‘Red’, I purposely planted Myriophyllum sp. in neutral orange for color harmony.
