We regret to announce that “Forests Underwater,” Takashi Amano’s installation exhibited at the Oceanário de Lisboa, will officially close in June 2026.
Since its debut in 2015, the installation has been carefully maintained for nearly ten years. As the largest Nature Aquarium in the world, it has inspired countless visitors by expressing the relationship between people and nature through a living ecosystem of aquatic plants, fish, and microorganisms.
To mark its closing, we have released a special feature page presenting a message from the Oceanário de Lisboa along with a retrospective chronicling its decade-long journey.
We warmly invite you to take a look.
