UONUMA & Iwagumi Masterclass 2026
— 7-Day Fully Inclusive Guided Tour with Yusuke Homma —
Tour Dates: October 12 (Mon) – October 18 (Sun), 2026
CELESTA is an experiential travel program that invites participants to discover the essence of the Nature Aquarium through immersion in the natural landscapes and cultural heritage of Japan, where its philosophy was born.
This special 7-day masterclass has been designed to explore the philosophy, structure, and observational depth of Iwagumi, the stone-based layout that lies at the very core of the Nature Aquarium.
The setting for this journey, Uonuma, is a land shaped by heavy snowfall, pristine beech forests, clear streams carved by snowmelt, and terraced rice fields formed through centuries of human coexistence with nature. It is also the birthplace of Hakkai Stone, the iconic stone material widely known in Iwagumi layouts.
During the tour, participants will walk through natural forests, observe Hakkai Stones in mountain rivers, and touch the stones themselves—learning firsthand how stones exist in nature, how they relate to one another, and how these relationships form the foundation of Iwagumi composition.
In addition, special seminars will be held at the ADA Nature Aquarium Gallery, focusing on both layout creation and maintenance. Through hands-on practice, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the entire process—from observing nature to translating its principles into aquarium expression.
We sincerely hope that this journey will become an unforgettable experience of learning, discovery, and inspiration for all participants.
