NATURE AQUARIUM GALLERY #08: Spirit of Nature
At the Nature Aquarium Gallery, aquascapes are created and maintained every day. Through this ongoing work, ADA has developed a deep and practical knowledge of Nature Aquarium. In the web series NATURE AQUARIUM GALLERY, we interview ADA SUIKEI Creators and ADA’s expert maintenance staff to explore their creations and share tips on how to care for and grow aquatic environments using ADA products.

[ Spirit of Nature ]
This aquascape was created based on the image of a “power spot” encountered unexpectedly in nature. To enhance the impact of the central stone composition, which serves as the main feature, yellow-green aquatic plants were planted in the area extending from the front center toward the background, while darker green aquatic plants were arranged along both sides.
This contrast in tone resulted in an underwater scene that combines ruggedness with a sense of dignity, forming a distinctive and powerful landscape.

Maintenance & Cultivation Tips

Encouraging Plant Growth with Bottom Plus
Bottom Plus is particularly effective for aquatic plants that absorb nutrients primarily through their roots. It contains ample nitrogen and iron—nutrients that are often depleted during long-term maintenance—and supports improved leaf coloration and steady new growth.
As it is produced from the same natural soil materials used in Aqua Soil, the design minimizes residue remaining within the substrate. To maintain brightness and openness through the center of the layout, sufficient height of Vallisneria neotropicalis on both sides was essential. Fertilization with Bottom Plus was therefore applied once per month.

Potassium Supplementation According to Plant Origin
African Bolbitis species tend to prefer water with relatively higher KH levels. For this reason, Brighty K is more suitable than Green Brighty Neutral K. Potassium supplementation is essential to maintain leaf clarity. Monitor oxygen bubble formation on the underside of leaves as a visual indicator, and adjust dosing up to 1.5 times the standard recommendation as needed.
