The graceful and delicate appearance that only aquatic plants possess. Even the word “submerged leaves” has its own characteristics, such as red, transparent, slender, and so on. Each of them has its own beauty. This is because each aquatic plant has acquired its own unique appearance in the process of evolution in order to survive in the water from the land. Although we take submerged leaves for granted in Nature Aquarium, they are a special form of plants, and that is why aquatic plants have such a deep appeal.

This issue focuses on the “submerged leaves” in ADA’s aquatic plant lineup. We have selected 8 species of aquatic plants, from attractive species that look great in a layout to those that can be enjoyed on their own. In this section, we introduce the features of each submerged leaf and recommended tips for planting.
Fascinating in a fresh green color
Rotala rotundifolia ‘Green’
Place of origin: East Asia/Lythraceae
Fine bright green foliage develops. Plant it in the background and increase the density by trimming to enjoy beautiful green bushes.

 
Giving sharpness to the aquascape with red tones
Ludwigia repens ‘Super Red’
Improved variety/Onagraceae
The reddish-purple submerged leaves stand out among red stem plants. It can be enjoyed in the background, or as an accent in the middle ground.

The brick-red colored leaves are rounded and gently wavy. By planting them in the background, it adds a gorgeous accent to the aquascape.

It is characterized by its fine, sharp, saw-toothed leaves. It grows slowly and is suitable for planting in the mid-ground or as an accent in the background.
