[ A Restful Waterside ]
This nature-style terrarium aquarium is defined by the impressive Echinodorus that unfold large leaves above the water’s surface. The power of emersed growth can be enabled and enjoyed simply by providing the right conditions. These Echinodorus originated from a “Wabi-Kusa Echinodorus MIX 90Ø” and have been kept in excellent condition for over a year since the layout was created. New plantlets continue to sprout from the main plant. Normally, they would be trimmed to protect the mother plant, but in this layout they were intentionally left to showcase the plant’s natural growth habit. To achieve an open-style setup, the “Solar RGB II” lighting system is used. By adjusting brightness and lighting duration, a stable environment suited to the plants’ needs has been maintained.

The Vigorous Spread of Echinodorus argentinensis
The Echinodorus argentinensis rises beautifully from the Wabi-Kusa. Its bold leaf shape has a commanding presence even within the limited space of a W600mm aquarium. Thanks to the open layout, the leaves can extend freely, fully expressing the plant’s appeal.

An Underwater Composition of Light and Shadow
In the underwater section, shade-loving aquatic plants such as Microsorum and Anubias are arranged to create a calm atmosphere with rich, deep greens. To prevent the underwater area from appearing too dark—an issue common in terrarium-style layouts—bright decorative sand was chosen to lift the overall tone.

Natural Randomness of the Wabi-Kusa MIX
The charm of the “Wabi-Kusa MIX” lies in the natural look created by its randomly mixed aquatic plants. What first appears chaotic actually forms a wild, untamed expression of nature. Even beginners can simply place it in the tank and instantly create a layout that feels naturally organic—one of the signature joys of working with Wabi-Kusa.
