Summer is the time of year when our attention to layout-making seems little toned down as the water temperature increases. But, even in these days of hot summer, Takashi Amano's creativity is sparked by conducting two extensive layout projects at the Sumida Aquarium and also in ADA's Nature Aquarium Gallery. The whole creation process was just extraordinary; a total of 19 amazing aquascapes were newly installed.

Aqua Journal Vol.216

Following the previous issue, the latest Aqua Journal is featuring new planted aquarium layouts that were installed during a large scale rearrangement of the Nature Aquarium Gallery in July, this year. From W60xD30xH36cm to W180xD120xH60cm aquariums, 16 aquascapes in total were newly created by Takashi Amano. The main article has a close look at the creation process of these layouts and important points of their maintenance one month after their installation.
The article also features some displayed planted aquariums that went through "Sozo Haishoku (creative plant rearrangement)" and the ones presenting strong natural atmosphere that has been created over a long period of time. Aqua Journal Vol.219

The latest issue of Aqua Journal, vol 219 with a special feature “NA Collection” shows plenty of photos of Nature Aquariums and other various layouts that were covered in Aqua Journal magazines in 2013. Of course, these photos are not the same as the ones that were previously shown.
During a photo shoot of Nature Aquarium aquascape for the magazine, a number of photos are taken with different background colors, lens angles of view and shooting angles. They are all equally good, but usually only one of them is selected to be on the Aqua Journal (except for photos showing only a part of aquascape). This issue showcases selected pieces of never-before-seen photos.
Layouts are sorted by material to provide a good reference on how to use each layout material. They also inspire the readers to have great ideas on their new layout productions.

【The renewal for the Aqua Journal logos and the design.】

The Aqua Journal, an information magazine for the Nature Aquarium, reaches 20th anniversary since its first issue in 1994 and have the renewal on the name logos and the inside design from the Vol.220 issued on January 10, Friday.

The special feature title of the Vol.220 is “ The Basics of a Beautiful Aquascape Design “, and it explains, for easy to understand, the layout composition and the planting techniques of aquatic plants to show the Nature Aquarium beautifully.

Aqua Journal Vol.221

Aqua Journal had the complete design reform from the previous issue, and it reaches 20th anniversary in June, 2014. As its herald, this special feature looks back the track of 20 years of AJ.
