ISHI (Stone)

Iwagumi may look simple at first glance, but because their arrangement itself becomes the object of admiration, each stone plays a large role and its arrangement can be difficult. For that, it is important to choose this material by considering each stone’s expressions and angles. The range of expression can be expanded depending on the type of stone and the style of stone arrangement, for instance the classic Sanson Iwagumi technique or those based on mountains or reefs.

RYUOH STONE
Characterised by its blue-grey color, white veins and carved wrinkles. Because of it’s rich variation in bumpiness and color, you will want to choose ones whose expression matches your layout.

UNZAN STONE
Volcanic stone that has been produced to be mountain-like, with beautiful shapes, recommended to beginners. Easy to attach moss on, the S size and above has depressions in which you can grow Wabi-Kusa 50Ø, giving it a wide expressive range.

OHKO STONE
The “yellow tiger stone”; an attractive, yellowish-brown stone with a distinctively varied nibbled appearance. Though it is unique in its impression of dryness, its texture feels natural when matched with Branch Wood.
Tank size: W1,800×D600×H600(mm)
SANSUI STONE
With an impression of a mountain-landscape painting, it is an eye-catching type of lava stone with a peculiar layered structure. It has a rough surface, making it easy to grow Taxiphyllum barbieri on.

Tank Size : W450×D270×H300(mm)
KEI STONE
Thick and angular, a river stone of mixed warm colors like earthy yellow and reddish brown. Apart from its use in solo stone arrangement, its gentler hues can be used to support driftwood, or it can also represent scree areas.
YAMAYA STONE
An almost-black grey, thick and angular stone. More than for it’s form, it is suitable for stacking in a random fashion to create a natural rock wall or rise, or for supporting driftwood.
