Iwagumi Challenge

Iwagumi Challenge is a competition about layout stones in Nature Aquarium. It is started from selecting the Main Stone. The main stone decides the whole of the Iwagumi layout. So competitors selected the stone carefully, considering its shape, size and personality.
After placed the main stone in an aquarium tank, they arranged sub stones with a little unstable balance to make the layout a tense feeling and lead to make a powerful rock arrangement like as they had learned in this seminar.

Competition Winner

In this competition, the winner was decided by total points from voting by other competitors (they could decide and vote 1st to 3rd rank each.) and marking by Takashi Amano.

At selecting stones, unfortunately I could not get stones I planned. So I needed to change my first concept. However, at result it worked well. I made the 3:2 ratio layout.
I was glad to get a good evaluation from other participants and Mr. Amano.

Advices from Takashi Amano

After this competition, Mr. Amano gave every competitors advices with fixing layout by himself. He understood the concept of each works and revised stone arrangements using quite same stones competitors selected.
