TH (Total Hardness of water) is the sum of some multivalent cations, such as calcium ions, in water. When the TH level is high, the color of new leaves starts fading and the growth of the plants is disturbed. Please always check the level of TH after setting new stones or gravels in your aquarium.

Pack Checker NH4
Ammonium is from organic matter, such as unconsumed fish food or excretion of fish, and it change high toxicity ammonia for fish and shrimp when the water quality becomes alkaline. Ammonium disappears once biological filtration works normal, therefore you find when the biological filtration works.

Pack Checker NO2
Nitrite formed from ammonia is harmful to aquatic creatures, such as fish and shrimp. The level of NO2 in the tank goes up right after the initial set-up of the aquarium and when the biological filtration becomes unstable. Excellent for examining the condition of the filter system.

Pack Checker NO3
When the biological filtration of the aquarium is working properly, nitrite quickly decomposes into harmless nitrate. It becomes an important nutrient for the water plants. Yet, the excess amount of nitrate in the water promotes algae growth.

Pack Checker CIO
The amount of chlorine residue in tap water is adjusted depending on the locality and the temperature. It is very important to check if the water is neutralized properly on regular basis. A close observation of the CIO level is recommended during winter time when the amount of chlorine residue is higher.

Pack Checker COD
The organic matter from the leftover fish food and excretion of fish contaminates the water, and also causes the algae and germs inside the aquarium. COD is one of the indicators which tells the degree of water deterioration. When the aquarium is dirty or has too many fish inside, we see the high level of COD.

Pack Checker PO4
Phosphate, produced from leftover fish food and wastes, is one of reasons of algae growth. Therefore, there is a possibility Phosphate is accumulated in the aquarium due to the overpopulation of fish or too much feeding. Please check the PO4 level, and make a necessary water change.

With this product, it is very easy to measure the level of pH: just pump the water into a tube. Most water plants and tropical fish prefer soft and slightly acidic water. Please check the pH level before releasing the fish into the aquarium and during regular water changes.
