Access to Niigata
Niigata is located on the coast of the Sea of Japan on Honshu Island, and it is easily accessible from Tokyo on the Joetsu Shinkansen (departs from tracks 21, 22, 23 and sometimes 20. Ask the railway staff for assistance). This high-speed railroad line can reach Niigata from Tokyo in about 2 hours. JR (Japan Railway) Niigata Station is your next destination on your way to visit the Nature Aquarium Gallery.
From Niigata Station, you can reach the Nature Aquarium Gallery with following route.
1) JR Echigo Line bound for Yoshida; get off at JR Maki Station, then call a taxi
2) Niigata Kotsu Express Bus
The Nature Aquarium Gallery was established in July, 2003, and it is located in the entrance space of ADA Headquarters in Niigata, Japan. Even though access to the gallery may not be easy for travelers from abroad, we are confident you can experience the original AMANO layout you cannot find anywhere else, and it is worth making a day-trip from Tokyo or other major tourist spots in Japan. We also recommend gallery visitors to stay overnight in a traditional Japanese style Inn with a hot spring bath, and enjoy the delicacies of Niigata.
